This album is named ‘One Step.’ Many songs on the record have the word ‘one’ in the title and that’s what I wanted this album to represent. If I don’t believe it, why would I expect anyone else to believe it? I’m not afraid to let myself go somewhere musically that is not my usual sound, as long as it is true to the lyric. Every song, every lyric needs to be something that I think is worth saying.
